The people behind Umza Air
A Nigerian team of aviation professionals — board, flight operations, continuing airworthiness and finance — accountable for getting you there safely and on time.
Every safe, on-time flight is the work of experienced people making careful decisions long before boarding. Between them, the people below bring a founder’s conviction, fifteen years of corporate governance, more than sixty years on the flight deck and three decades of aviation engineering — and share one standard: look after the passenger, and never cut a corner on the way.
Profiles as published in the Umza Aviation company profile. Post-holder appointments for flight operations, continuing airworthiness, safety and security are made and reviewed in line with Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority requirements, and this roster is updated as the airline grows.
How we’re run
Umza Air operates under the accountable-manager structure required by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA): clear lines of responsibility for flight operations, continuing airworthiness, safety and security, each owned by a named, NCAA-accepted post-holder. Our Director of Flight Operations owns the operation in the air; our Director of Continuing Airworthiness and Head of Maintenance owns the aircraft; our Chief Pilot owns standards and line training on the flight deck.
Our safety management system gives every team member a direct, blame-free route to raise a concern — because the best decisions come from people who feel safe to speak up. Appointments and post-holders are reviewed as the airline grows.
Backed by the Umza Group
Umza Aviation Services Limited is part of the Umza Group, a diversified Nigerian conglomerate with decades of success in agribusiness, logistics, trading and infrastructure — the base from which the airline was built.
