Our fleet

The aircraft that carry you

A Dash 8 Q400 turboprop fleet built for the Nigerian domestic network, and wide-body capacity brought in for pilgrimage and large group charters.

Last updated July 2026

We fly aircraft matched to the job. The Dash 8 Q400 is the right aeroplane for Nigeria’s domestic sectors — fast for a turboprop, economical, and capable on the short and remote airfields a regional jet would struggle with. For the Hajj season, where several hundred pilgrims move at once, we wet-lease Boeing wide-bodies instead.

De Havilland Canada Dash 8 Q400

Regional turboprop

A next-generation turboprop built for short to medium-haul regional operations. It pairs the economics of a turboprop with jet-like speed, and handles short and remote airfields that jets cannot — which makes it the right aircraft for the Nigerian domestic network.

Boeing 747-400

Wet-leased

Long-haul, wide-body, four-engine jet

The 747-400 is the high-capacity, four-engine wide-body that made long-haul mass travel routine. Its size and range are what allow a whole state’s pilgrims to move in a single rotation, which is why Umza wet-leases it for the Hajj season.

In the air with Umza

Comfortable single-aisle cabin

The Q400 seats 74 in a 2-2 arrangement with large overhead bins — no middle seat anywhere on the aircraft.

Maintained to standard

Continuing airworthiness is owned by a named NCAA-accepted post-holder, with scheduled maintenance and mandatory daily checks under an approved programme.

Efficient by design

A turboprop burns considerably less fuel per seat than a jet on a one-hour sector — better for fares and for the skies.
