Umza’s first independent Hajj airlift moved more than 13,000 Nigerian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia — and brought every one of them home on schedule.
Umza had flown pilgrims since 2022, working alongside partner airlines for the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria and accredited tour operators. 2025 was different: with its own Air Operator Certificate in hand, the airline ran the airlift itself.
More than 13,000 pilgrims boarded from states across the country, carried on wet-leased Boeing 747-400 and 777-200 wide-bodies. Every one of them was returned home on schedule — the part of a pilgrimage airlift that is hardest to get right, and the part families notice most.
The season built a reputation the airline is quietly proud of: careful coordination, patient handling of passengers and luggage, and the kind of attention to detail that only shows up when several hundred people at a time are depending on it.
