For everyone’s safety, some items can’t fly — and some can only travel in the hold.

Aviation safety rules limit what can be carried on an aircraft. Checking this list before you pack keeps security quick and your journey smooth.
Never permitted (on board or in the hold)
- Explosives, fireworks and flares
- Flammable liquids and gases, including camping gas
- Toxic or infectious substances
- Corrosives such as acids and wet-cell batteries
- Any item designed to look like a weapon
Hand baggage only
- Spare lithium batteries and power banks (must be carried in the cabin, never checked)
- E-cigarettes and vaping devices (carriage only; use is prohibited on board)
- Valuables, medication, documents and electronics
Checked (hold) baggage only
- Sharp objects such as knives and scissors
- Tools that could be used as a weapon
- Sporting equipment such as bats and cues
